Understanding Poland Tax System
Poland uses a Progressive Income Tax System with two main tax brackets. The tax system is administered by the Polish Tax Office and includes income tax (PIT), social security contributions (ZUS), and other deductions.
2025 Tax Brackets:
- 12% - Up to PLN 120,000
- 32% - Over PLN 120,000
Poland offers a personal exemption (kwota wolna od podatku) of approximately PLN 30,000 per year. Social security contributions (ZUS) are approximately 13.71% of gross income for employees.
Child Tax Credits (Ulga na Dziecko):
Poland provides child tax credits that directly reduce your tax liability:
- PLN 1,112.04 per year for the 1st and 2nd child
- PLN 2,000.04 per year for the 3rd child
- PLN 2,700.00 per year for the 4th and each subsequent child
Unlike deductions that reduce taxable income, these are tax credits that directly reduce the amount of tax you owe. The credits are applied after calculating your tax, reducing your final tax bill.
Our Poland tax calculator automatically applies the correct tax rates and brackets based on your income level and filing status, ensuring accurate calculations for your specific situation. It also calculates child tax credits when you enter the number of children.
